Elections and democracy

General elections are scheduled to be held in Brazil in October 2018 to elect the President and Vice President, the National Congress, State and Federal District Governors and Vice Governors, State Legislative Assemblies and Federal District Legislative Chamber.

The leading presidential candidate is sitting in jail. A right-wing candidate from a minor party who draws comparisons to Donald Trump is rising in the polls. More than 90 percent of the deputies named in Lava Jato are running for reelection.

So what went wrong? There must be something wrong! Why don’t we start learning why Socrates, the founding father of Greek Philosophy, in which Democracy rose, was so pessimistic about it.
