2020. We made it!

Hi everyone!

Wow! What a tough year!

We went through uncertainties, anxiety, fear, but we got through these challenging times.

Go through” and “get through” are just two phrasal verbs among a large number of new words, expressions, and idioms we learned in order to be able to speak about the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. We learned how to talk about the virusherd immunitysafety measures, our new routinesemotional responses. Videos, songspoemsjokesrelated to the pandemic, which informed, entertained, and motivated us.

We took on the challenge. We had to rapidly adjust to remote learning or online classes, to working from home, which was not easy at the beginning.

I had a problem with my computer, and although many times, it was hard to bear, and we were all sick and tired of the pandemic, we made it!

And when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, first my mother and then my father tested positive for Covid-19. But that’s been a much harder lesson.

Perfection is the result of a process, and it is not an end result. In this process, we correct mistakes, expand understanding, grow in experience, and therefore we move forward!

And the best of all is that:

“…every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.”

Thomas Edison

So, let’s acknowledge what we have done so far, and make that the motivation to achieve even more!

Everything has its time…

Many thanks to all my students for allowing me to share and do the best I can and know, hoping that you all can get closer to your goal.

My thanks for your questions, for your doubts, and your concerns. The answers, most of the time, resulted in new and exciting findings for all of us.

I hope all your Christmas and New Year wishes come true and that you get set for a great 2021.

Now it’s time to recharge our batteries, and after that, I will be here, ready for another great start!

Your teacher,

AA
